Gift Coupons

Gift Coupons by Baskin Robbins

1. The first idea was simply based on the joy of gifting and opening a box of surprise. The pyramid box could later be used as a storage for trinkets to keep on a desk or elsewhere and had a fairly simple mechanism to open and shut.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Baskin Robbins is a global ice cream brand. Their values include spreading happyness everyday and making shared occasions special.

The brief was to design gift coupons in a way that should have a keepsake or utility value and is not just a plain gift card. It should be like a little gift that is given, a feeling of joy, appreciation and love that is shared.

KEYWORDS: Happy, Joyous, Cheerful, Peppy, Colourful, Dynamic, Young, Celebration, Playful

ROUTE: Keeping in mind the keywords, I had explored four routes to find the solution:

The project went live with a simple envelope and card because of change in brief and budget constraints in production.

2. The second idea was to make a pencil stand that can be kept on the desk. It was a collapsible box which had various ice cream cut outs popping up from section dividers in the box. The coupon was a tear away element from the front face. Once the coupon was torn away, the rest of the unit could sit on a desk and be used to keep stationary.

3. The third idea was to appreciate and cheer up somebody by giving them a certificate. The coupon was a tear away component of the certificate which was given away in a canister that could be reused.

4. The last idea was a that of a magic card. Ordinarily it would look like a line drawing but when the card would be pulled out, one could see the artwork come to life with all the colours. This again had a tear away coupon from the top and one could keep the card with a personalised message behind it.
